Jakarta, August 8, 2024 – The Management Department of FEB Universitas Indonesia, in collaboration with Lembaga Management FEB UI, proudly presents a comprehensive seminar series titled "Conducting Impactful Business Research on an International Scale: Recent Trends, Methods, and Challenges." This seminar, accredited by AACSB, aims to provide the latest insights, methods, and strategies to researchers and practitioners in conducting international business research.
The seminar series began on Thursday, August 8, 2024, with the topic "Leveraging Algorithms for Strategic Business Research: Trends, Strategies, and Challenges," presented by Prof. Rhenald Kasali. The session was engaging, attended by around 60 participants from various backgrounds, including researchers, advanced students, and practitioners.
The first session was opened by Arief Wibisono Lubis, PhD., Acting Dean of FEB UI, followed by a comprehensive presentation by Prof. Rhenald Kasali. In this topic, Prof. Rhenald Kasali elaborated on the need for the business research field to "move on" from the traditional paradigms of "predictive" and "explanatory" to a new paradigm that is "prescriptive," with algorithms as the basis.
During the session, seminar participants were also invited to delve into and observe the direct impact through examples demonstrated, such as on Prof. Rhenald Kasali's social media accounts. "This activity is excellent and aligns perfectly with the seminar's focus on impact. Through his presentation, Prof. Rhenald Kasali has shown and proven the real impact of this approach. Researchers are encouraged to go beyond mere publications but also to achieve real-world impact from their research," concluded Imam Salehudin, PhD., the session moderator.
The comprehensive seminar series titled "Conducting Impactful Business Research on an International Scale: Recent Trends, Methods, and Challenges" will continue on August 15, 2024, with two seminar sessions. In the first session, Vid Adrison, PhD., will deliver a presentation on "Research Methods: Data-Driven Approach to Formulate Research Questions from SUSENAS Data," focusing on using SUSENAS data to formulate research questions. The second session by Ismail Fahmi, PhD., will discuss "Harnessing Big Data: Leveraging Social Media for Internationally Impactful Business Research," where participants will learn how to utilize social media for internationally impactful business research.
